KOSEI

review

kitanomaru hyakkei

definately one of the most rewarding gero 7 inches that have thus far been expelled upon the public at large. not only is the music completely killer, but the packaging alone makes this an absolutely indispensible gero product. a lavish booklet filled to the brim with gero history, discography and an amazing array of collages and various gero artwork all done by kensuke kobayash.

side a has 3 tracks. the 1st track, 'kosei' is looped sounds mixed with a recording of a crowd. the 2nd title track is another mix of noise and what sounds like a recording from some 60's prog-rock synthesizer album. its totally insane. the third track, 'sei yoku' is a very fast number with a wicked theremin solo layed over what sounds like some digital hardcore shit by alec empire. its almost 'punk.'
side b has two tracks, '1st recording' and 'ai jin.' the first song is the same one from the 'recollections of primary masturbations' cd and the second song is the famed title track from the notorious ai jin 7 inch that juntaro supposedly burned all copies of on a beach in japan back in 1988. its also available on the much easier to obtain (and soon to be rereleased) 'singles' cd. its juntaro singing along with a pop song.

put out by monellaphone cassettes in 1993.
limited to 300 numbered copies on standard black wax.
