singles 1985 - 1993

probably one of the best records to get for those weary to the ways of the gerogerigegege. a collection of sorts of many rare and hard to find 'singles' that were put out during the previosuly mentioned years.
the 1st track "b-men no saisho no kyuko," is an alternative take from the ever so elusive "sexual behavior in the human male" EP and its simply a senzuri prank call.
the 2nd track "senzuri twilight," is exactly what the title says. a drum machine and some flemenco guitars 'accentuate' the performance.
track 3 "stairway to promotion," is a piano piece cut onto a 7 inch flexi-disk using a disk cutting machine. strangely soothing piano music, regardless of the incredibly noticable and constant cuts.
track 4 "ai-jin," is from the now legendary non-existant flexi-disk of the same name. according to the liner notes, juntaro annouced on a radio station that the gerogerigegege will have a live commemoration for the new 7'' on a beach. when all the people showed up, he allegedly burned all 2000 copies on the spot. way punk rock, dude. the song itself is juntaro singing along with a pop record. one side is all noise and static and the other is japanese pop music. hilarious.
track 5 "white christmas white sperm," is the gerogerigegege live senzuri christmas song. the irving berlin classic will never sound the same ever again.
track 6 is "hotel ultra radio" and its a recording from an incredibly old radio. its mainly just low end fuzz but one can make out some strange melodies & sounds in the mix somewhere in the static. quite relaxing. according to the liner notes, "we highly evaluate the badness of sound level." thanks for looking out for us, juntaro.
track 7 "nagai yoru," is a very short recording of something produced by saki kubota, a japanese artist, through an old record player. the notes to this track are kinda confusing.
track 8 "senzuri champion pt. 4" is from the legendary debut lp and its a different take. 3 tracks of senzuri, although they all appear to be from movies, with lots of a strange backward loops and lots of drums thrown in the mix. some pianos thrown in there as well. just downright bizarre.
track 9 "bachelerhood live a tenement house" is another flexi-disk created with his disk cutter, similar to track 3. this track however, sounds like he was cutting from a tape or a radio.
track 10 "violence onanie," is another senzuri track this time with air raid sirens, bombs, car horns, explosions, and rockets blasting off in the background. one of the funniest tracks EVER.
track 11 "furukawa roppa," is just juntaro imitating the famous japanese comedian. a very short and totally useless track but thats why its so funny.
overall, a very good album with good production that further proves why the gerogerigegege are one of japan's strangest and interesting noise groups.

put out on work in progress 1994.
